POWER UP FILM GRANT RECIPIENT
Billy’s
essay assignment causes him to take a look at the world around
him. What will he be when he grows up? Does he want to be a
policeman or a fireman? Or will Billy turn out to be a fudge-packer
like his father?

JAMIE DONAHUE writer/director
While in high school, Jamie Donahue was very
active in college and community theater. After graduation she
turned down a math scholarship and moved to Los Angeles with
nothing but $500.00 and a dog. She worked three jobs and took
a loan to afford acting school, where she studied with Estelle
Harmon for four years. She continued doing theater and started
to get her feet wet in independent films.
After appearing in a slew uninspired, paint-by-numbers films,
Jamie decided to pick up her pen and try
her hand at writing. She has currently sold several options
to her work.
She has had a varied career in the entertainment industry, having
appeared in such feature films as Whipped, The Dead Hate The
Living, and the festival award-winning, yet still unreleased,
Stop It,
You’re Killing Me! The list of short films she has appeared
in is too many to list, but among them is Fay Dunaway’s
The Yellow Bird.
But not all of her work has been in front of the camera. She
has filled every crew position from P.A. to first A.D, most
often working as a field sound technician for ABC News, and
shows such as Extra!
