Work with writers, directors, producers, directors of photography,
editors, etc. on POWER UP’s second feature film.
This April POWER UP is making the
dark comedy feature THE LAND. Simply put "The Land"
is a “Lord of the Flies" meets "Gilligan’s
Island" with 8 gay women who are trapped at an abandoned
resort. What happens next will challenge them to thrive
off the land in order to survive.
"The
Land" is a trilogy to be directed by by Colette Burson
(Coming Soon, Little Black Boot), Hilary Goldberg (Render:
Spanning Time with Ani DiFranco, In the Spotlight) and
TBA; co-produced by Jennifer Wright (In Living English)
and Jo Hunt-Korn (Baggage Claim); (produced by Lisa Thrasher
(Itty Bitty Titty Committee, Starcrossed) and executive
produced by POWER UP founder Stacy Codikow (Under the
Hula Moon, D.E.B.S.). This is a tremendous opportunity
to get hands on experience, participate in the creation
of a motion picture, establish relationships and have
fun.

| TO
APPLY FOR A MENTORSHIP POSITION:
1 You must be a POWER UP Professional,
Silver or Gold member in good standing through December
1, 2008;
2 You must provide a (a) resume;
and (b) a one page essay stating your goals and why you
feel this mentorship will help you to achieve them;
3 You must be available to participate
during the the filmmaking process - film shoot dates are
currently scheduled for April 15-May 1, pre-production
occurring before and post after; (Dates are subject to
change)
4 You must also be available to
attend meetings with filmmakers on evenings and/or weekends
during pre-production and on evenings and/or weekends
during post-production; and
5 All mentees
understand that they are under a work-for-hire agreement
for good and valuable consideration hereby acknowledged,
and as such hold absolutely no rights in and/or to the
film whether or not their contribution was used. All mentees
hereby authorize POWER UP to use their name, voice, likeness
and/or any other representation for any purpose without
any additional consideration. All mentees can be terminated
at any time without cause.
