JULI VIZZA - producer
Producer and
editor Juli Vizza has favorably contributed to a number of
acclaimed feature and documentary projects, most notably as
editor of writer/director Eugene Martin’s “Diary
of a City Priest,” an official selection at the 2001
Sundance Film Festival. Her earlier work with Martin on the
1998 drama “Edge City” screened at the Berlin
Film Festival and won first prize at the Hamptons Film Festival.
Most recently her editorial work on the 2002 Winter Olympics
was recognized with an Emmy for Outstanding Technical Remote
Team.
She is currently
producing a documentary about an accomplished flamenco dancer
from Spain and is in development for her next feature film,
a comedy about a mentor who not only challenges his writers’
techniques but also controls their lives as well.
STEAK
HOUSE - producer
Steak House is an independent producer with over 12 years
of experience in the film industry. Her award-winning projects
include the festival hit By Hook or By Crook, which won Best
Feature at several festivals including SXSW and Outfest, and
was an Official Selection at Sundance 2002.
Steak grew up
in the OC and received a BFA in Set Design from USC. She began
working in the film industry as a Set Decorator. During that
time she also produced nightclubs, tour-managed a band and
then began working as a Production Coordinator, AD and UPM,
with credits that include Matrix: Reloaded, Matrix: Revolutions
and cartoons for Nickelodeon, Fox, WB and Sony.
Beginning with
By Hook or By Crook, Steak created her own company, Steakhaus
Productions, and moved fully into producing. Since 1998, she
has produced a feature film, seven shorts, music videos and
the trailers for the 2003 San Francisco LGBT Film Festival.
These award-winning projects have screened internationally
at film festivals and on the Sundance Channel. By Hook or
By Crook received theatrical, television and video distribution
and is currently available from Wolfe Video. Her most recent
short, Phase 5, featured Mink Stole and premiered at Sundance
in 2004. In 2001, San Francisco’s Roxie Theater programmed
a Steak House Productions Night and later Frameline and the
Seattle LGFF followed suit with an entire program of her shorts
called Straightsploitation.
Steak is currently
seeking funding for several feature films, including House
Broken (written by Kristian House), which was selected for
the Emerging Narrative section of the IFP Market and Speedway
(written by Jennifer Arnold), which was a finalist in the
Slamdance Screenwriting contest. She is also in post on a
feature documentary, For the Love of Dolly, about Dolly Parton
fans.
