The award recognizes Amazing Gay Women who are working,
creating and changing lives as they continue their way
up the ladder of success. The recipients will receive
their award at the 7th Annual Power Premiere Celebrity
Gala November 11, 2007 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
“We are extremely proud of POWER UP’s many
accomplishments and feel that including the 10 Amazing
list allows us to recognize many more women in our community,”
stated Lisa Thrasher, president of Film Production &
Distribution.
“I’m inspired by the idea of inspiring others.
This honor from
POWER UP encourages me to stay visible and keep pushing
against the grain,” said writer/director Lisa Cholodenko.

Festival “Laurel Canyon” premiered in 2003
at Cannes and Sundance she has directed for television
including episodes of “Homicide: Life on the Street”,
“Six Feet Under” and “The L Word.”
Cherien Dabis Writer/Co-Producer of
Showtime Network’s The L Word
Short films “Make A Wish” screened at Sundance,
Berlinale and Clermont-Ferrand, where it picked up the
Press Prize and Jury’s Honorable Mention. Memoirs
of An Evil Stepmother (2004) and Little Black Boot (2004),
POWER UP Screenwriting grant Winner. She was also recently
honored with the L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth
Vision Award at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.

Lori Kaye Writer/Producer/Director
Lori was Executive Producer of “Work Out,”
(GLAAD Nominee) the first reality series to feature a
lesbian as its star on Bravo Television. She also recently
completed a stint as Executive Consulting Producer for
the LOGO series “Curl Girls” about the lives
and loves of a group of lesbian surfers. Lori was also
Executive Producer of “The Ride: 7 Days To End AIDS,”
Co-Executive Producer for the inaugural season of Emmy-nominated
“Kathy Griffin: My D-List Life,” the first
season of “Joe Millionaire”, and “American
Princess.”
Danielle Knight currently serves as
Director, Legal Affairs, Warner Bros. Television. In this
capacity, she oversees legal matters pertaining to successful
WBTV series such as “Two and a Half Men” and
“Smallville”. She joined Warner Bros. Television
in 2002, and prior to that worked at the law firm Business
Affairs, Inc., where she handled transactional entertainment
legal matters for clients such as HBO.
Amy M. Lesser Publisher/Event Producer
Founder and Editor-in-Chief of GO Magazine, the nations
most widely distributed free lesbian publication. Launched
in 2002, GO continues to provide coverage and support
on a national scale to individuals as well as arts, entertainment
and community organizations.
Jennifer Morris Director of Programming
for Frameline Film Festival
In addition to programming the festival, she also manages
the Frameline Film & Video Completion Fund, which
annually awards $50,000 in grants to LGBT filmmakers.
Jennifer is also active in the San Francisco music scene
and regularly appears as DJ Junkyard.

Olson is one of the world’s leading experts on LGBT
cinema history. Jenni established PlanetOut.com’s
massive queer movie database, PopcornQ in 1995. Her debut
feature, The Joy of Life (which received funding from
POWER UP and premiered at Sundance in 2005) explores butch
identity and the history of suicide and the Golden Gate
Bridge.
Michelle Paradise Co-creator, Executive
Producer, Writer, and Star “Exes & Ohs”
The series is based on her award-winning short, The Ten
Rules. Michelle has written feature scripts, stage plays,
and a pilot for Danny Jacobson’s (creator, Mad About
You) company. As an actor, she’s appeared on stage
and screen.
Lynn Whitney Senior Vice President,
Worldwide Media Advertising, Warner Bros. Pictures and
Warner Home Video. Upon her promotion to this post in
September 2005, she became Warner Bros. Entertainment’s
first divisional executive with responsibilities extending
over both home video and motion pictures.
