POWER UP has FIRST
LOOK DEAL - GET your short on LOGO! |
POWER UP
has entered into a one year First Look deal
with LOGO network for the acquisition of Short films.
“Logo was extremely impressed with the quality and
talent of the POWER UP filmmakers” said Maureen
Guthman, Vice-President of Acquisitions & Co-Productions,
Vh1, CMT & Logo. “We are very pleased to be
able to have these films on our network.” Guthman
has already acquired many of the POWER UP shorts that
will play over the next month on The Click List: Best
in Short Films which airs every Thursday at 10pm est.
It airs the same time on the East and West coast unless
you have Satellite then it would be three hours behind,
so it would air at 1am. (HOWEVER on Direct TV in LA it
airs at 7pm).
The Click List: Best in Short Film
goes in search of the next Joel Schumacher and John Cameron
Mitchell with this collection of short films. Each film
will be presented in its entirety, supplemented with brief
filmmaker bios, their influences, and some techniques;
further detail will be available at LOGOonline. Also at
LOGOonline, viewers will rate each film, and at the end
of the season the winning films will be announced on the
air and online. POWER UP shorts included are BILLY’S
DAD IS A FUDGEPACKER, D.E.B.S., STUCK, MEMOIRS OF AN EVIL
STEPMOTHER, GETTING TO KNOW YOU, DANI & ALICE, PROMTROVERSY
and LITTLE BLACK BOOT.
During
the term, POWER UP shall supply to Logo on an exclusive
first look basis: completed short films, short film concepts
owned and/or controlled by POWER UP, and short films concepts
that can be developed into a series or special.

of photography, editors, etc. on POWER UP’s second feature
film.
This April POWER
UP is making the dark comedy feature "THE LAND". Simply
put "The Land" is a “Lord of the Flies" meets
"Gilligan’s Island" with 8 gay women who are trapped
at an abandoned resort. What happens next will challenge them
to thrive off the land in order to survive.

Producers MAKE YOUR FILM NOW! A 6-week Intensive Hands-on Class
Navigate your path through the options and opportunities available
to make your film NOW! This class includes useful information
for those looking to set up, produce or participate in films.
Doing It! will engage the talents and careers of diverse filmmakers
to prepare their project through one-on-one mentorships, film
education, workshop, and roundtable discussions.
